Welcome to the Giraffe Coatings website (the “Site”), operated by Giraffe Floor Coatings LLC (“Giraffe Coatings,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using this Site, requesting an estimate, or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or our services.
1. Description of services
Giraffe Coatings provides concrete coatings and epoxy flooring services, primarily for residential garages and select commercial applications in Southwest Florida. Services include surface preparation, moisture testing, application of coating systems, and related work as described in a written estimate or contract.
We do not hold ourselves out as a licensed contractor under Florida Statute 489. Our work is limited to non-structural coatings and surface treatments. Structural repairs, electrical work, plumbing, or other licensed trades are outside our scope.
2. Estimates and quotes
Estimates are free and based on an on-site visit. We measure, inspect the slab (including moisture testing when applicable), and provide a written quote.
Quotes are valid for the period stated on the document (typically 30 days) and are based on the conditions observed at the time of the visit. Changes in scope, site conditions, or additional preparation (such as removal of existing coatings) will result in a revised quote.
We do not provide lifetime warranties. Any warranty is limited, written, and covers workmanship and materials as specified in the contract for that job.
3. Booking, deposits, and scheduling
A job is scheduled only after we receive a 50% deposit. The remaining 50% is due upon substantial completion of the work. Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has begun, except as required by law or as specifically stated in the written agreement. Cancellation or rescheduling requests must be made in writing with reasonable notice.
4. Site conditions and access
The customer is responsible for providing clear access to the work area, removing personal items, vehicles, and obstacles, and ensuring the site is ready for preparation and coating. We will note moisture readings and other conditions during the visit. High moisture readings may require a revised plan, delay, or additional preparation. We do not coat over slabs that fail moisture testing without a documented change in scope.
5. Payment terms
Payment is accepted by the methods stated on the invoice. Late payments may incur interest or fees as permitted by Florida law. We reserve the right to suspend or withhold final completion until full payment is received.
6. Changes and additional work
Any changes to the agreed scope must be documented in writing and may affect price and schedule. Verbal requests are not binding until confirmed in a revised estimate or change order.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Florida law, Giraffe Coatings’ liability for any claim arising from our services or use of this Site is limited to the amount paid for the specific job giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, damage to personal property left on site, or delays caused by weather, material availability, or site conditions outside our control.
8. Website use
The content on this Site is for general information and lead generation. It does not create a contract. You may not misuse the Site, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or use it for any unlawful purpose. All content, logos, and materials are owned by Giraffe Floor Coatings LLC or used with permission.
9. Privacy
Use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Sarasota County, Florida.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.
