Pool decks, lanais, and patios

Outdoor is not the garage bag. We quote the sheet — or we decline.

Manufacturer garage-and-shop flake overviews name garages and shops. They do not name lanais, pool decks, or driveways. A UV or weathering line on a lab chart is not a Florida outdoor-deck approval. Giraffe Coatings, trained crew.

We still come look. Appointment day is measure, color, and a concrete hardness test — every visit. If a listed system exists for that exposure, we quote it. If it does not, we say no.

Lanais and patios

In this market they say lanai more than patio. Same idea: Gulf air, wet feet, oak tannin at the sliders. A screened Bonita room in July is a UV oven. That is not a closed garage. Garage flake stays in the garage.

Pool decks

A Siesta or Naples deck in August is wet feet, chlorine, sunscreen, and a slab that cooks empty. Metallic does not belong next to the water. We quote only from a product whose sheet lists that exposure.

Outdoor questions

Can you coat a pool deck or lanai in Florida sun?

We will look. Manufacturer garage-and-shop flake overviews name garages and shops, not lanais or pool decks. A UV or weathering lab line is not a Florida outdoor-deck approval. We quote only from a data sheet that names that exposure — or we decline.

Will the deck be slippery when wet?

We spec texture. A glass-smooth metallic belongs in a closed garage, not on a pool deck.

Do oak tannins and irrigation stains ruin an outdoor coating?

They wreck cheap sealers. A dense, rinseable topcoat wipes. The floor still needs a hose after a heavy drip season. It should not drink the stain.

Can the lanai color match the garage?

In spirit, yes. The outdoor spec is not the indoor flake bag. Garage flake overviews do not list lanais.

Do you coat driveways?

Only when a product data sheet names that exposure. Most Florida drives are not a garage floor. We do not sell garage flake on a driveway and call it done.
